Our Water Surveillance Technologies
Our utilization of dPCR technology accurately quantifies your target of interest by using our high-performance reaction conditions for performing PCR in nanodroplets. Sample dilution minimizes PCR inhibition and the need for a standard curve. Target quantification is calculated based on a Poisson distribution of nanodroplet reactions that contain the target sequence.
We detect drugs of abuse through mass spectrometry of wastewater samples. In mass spectrometry, molecules that are present in a sample are broken up and moved through magnetic and electric fields before reaching a detector, which reads the mass-to-charge ratio of each molecule fragment. Fragmentation patterns are well characterized for known compounds, including drugs of abuse.
We use NGS technology to identify SARS-CoV-2 variants and to survey microbial communities present in wastewater and water samples through 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) sequencing. NGS is an accurate, high-throughput platform. NGS data can be used to assemble shorter sequencing reads into longer reads and determine the number of times a particular sequence is detected in a sample.
